Heaven rejoiced as Shirley passed into her Saviors arms on August 15, 2021. Ms. Shirley Pynes, age 84, of Leesburg was born March 10, 1937 to Rueben and Flossie Osbourne Nixon in Llano, Texas.
She was a retired secretary having worked for Pittsburg Independent School District for many years. She enjoyed singing gospel music and serving others and was a member of Eaves Tabernacle Baptist Church in Leesburg. Shirley’s smile and quick wit was infectious. And we will never forget her laugh… oh…that laugh! She was loved by many and made an impact on a lot of lives. We will greatly miss her but because of Jesus we know we will see her again.
She is survived by her step-daughter, Pam Pepper and husband Bill; daughter, Karen Jackson and husband Ron; son, Bryan Browning and wife Sharon; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Browning and Kris Pepper; and sister-in-law, Sue Presley.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Esca “Joe” Pynes; her parents, and two sisters, Peggy Johanson and Jane McKinnley.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, August 20, 2021 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg with Bro. Ken Manley officiating. Interment will follow in Leesburg Cemetery in Leesburg. There will be a visitation held from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00P.M. Thursday, August 19, 2021 at the funeral home.
