Graveside services for David Scott Cure, 75, of Moody, Texas, will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg, Texas with Reverend Jeff Dungan officiating. Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg, TX is in charge of arrangements.
Scott died Saturday, March 1st, in Granbury, Texas, after a long illness.
He was born July 12, 1949, in Marshall, Texas, to Ray Lynn Cure and Maxcene Norton Cure. After graduating from high school in Pittsburg, Texas, in 1967, he attended East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas, where he earned a B.S. Degree in Physics and Computer Science in 1972.
He began working in computer operations for an oil company in the Houston area in 1973, after which he moved to Temple, Texas, in 1987 where he began his own company as a private process server which he continued until his retirement in 2015. He spent most of his retirement on his ranchette near Moody, Texas.
Scott enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping, archeology, and taking care of his wild foxes. He dug for many amazing artifacts which mostly included original Indian arrowheads.
Survivors include his only child, Karen Cure Farner, his grandchildren, Scarlett Ray Farner and Troy Michael Farner, of Granbury, his brother, James O. Cure and sister-in-law, Patricia McGowan, of Temple, Texas.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents, Ray Lynn and Maxcene Cure.
