Sandra Fields

On Wednesday, June 29 2022, Sam Fields, loving mother of three and grandmother to 6, passed in the early hours of the morning at the age of 65.

Although born in Oakland California, it seemed she couldn’t get to Texas fast enough. With 3 young children, Jacklyn, Rebekah, and Bobby Jo, she jumped at the opportunity of a job in Pittsburg, a decision that forever changed all their lives. As a single mother, she worked hard to provide for all her kids, teaching them invaluable life lessons along the way.

As her children had children, she continued the tradition. Often babysitting and hosting sleep overs at her home, which she turned into something similar to the Garden of Eden, they watched the bluebirds raise their young, planted and harvested vegetables, chased ladybugs and learned to cook, all in the little farmhouse with the green roof.

Celebration of life will be held at Erman Smith Funeral Home here in Pittsburg on July 16 at 2 p.m.  In lieu of flowers the ask for donation to made to God closet in Pittsburg, TX.
