Ruby Nell (Foster) Reid

Funeral services for Ruby Nell Foster (McCurdy) Reid, 89 of Pittsburg will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Ebenezer Friendship Baptist Church with Bro. Mike Hall officiating.  Interment will be in the Ebenezer Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.  Mrs. Reid passed away Monday, June 14, 2021, at her residence.

She was born on January 7, 1932, in Overton, to Ollie Taylor and Jessie Mae Rayburn Foster.  She was a retired nurse having worked in the Hospital of the Pines and East Texas Medical Center in Pittsburg she was a member of the Baptist faith.

Mrs. Reid is survived by her sons, Keith McCurdy and Kenneth L. McCurdy; daughter, Karen J. McCurdy Adair and husband, Cary; six grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Thelbert Porier, Doyce Foster and Gerald Dean “Jerry” Foster; sisters, Ollie Mae Livingston, Bernice Sears, Dorothy Jean Henson and Treva Clements; and one grandson, Kenneth Lynn “Rowdy” McCurdy, Jr.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 18, 2021, at Ebenezer Friendship Baptist Church.
