Ruben Quinones Alvarez

Funeral service for Ruben Quinones Alvarez, 76, of Pittsburg, Texas will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Pittsburg with Father Juan Carlos officiating.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg.  Mr. Alvarez passed away Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his residence.

Mr. Alvarez was born August 17, 1944 in Toledo, San Juan del Rio, Durango, Mexico to Refugio and Santos Quinones Alvarez.  He was a rancher and farmer, a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and gained his citizenship on May 3, 2016.  He loved anything to do with horses and he adored his family very much. 

He is survived by his wife, Maria del Refugio Arce Medina Alvarez; sons, Manuel Alvarez, Jose Alvarez, Ruben Alvarez, and Lorenzo Alvarez; daughters, Maria Graciano, Monica Carrillo, Santos Gomez, Lupe Herrera, Hilda Guerra, and Yesenia Camarillo; brothers, Refugio Alvarez, Jorge Alvarez and Rolando Alvarez; sisters, Elisa Fierro, Guadalupe Alvarez, Benita Rocha and Socorro Guerra; 25 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents and numerous brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Manuel Alvarez, Jose Alvarez, Ruben Alvarez, and Lorenzo Alvarez.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m., Friday, February 26, 2021 to 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2021 in the Fellowship Hall across the street from Holy Cross Catholic Church on Hill Ave.
