Ronny Sansom, 74, of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away on February 8, 2024. He was born on August 2, 1949, to Lucille Corbitt Sansom. Ronny was a beloved family man who was loved by many.
Ronny is survived by his wife, LaJuana Horton Sansom of 25 years; son Jaye Sansom and wife Mendy of Pittsburg; daughter Jennifer Walker and husband David of Mount Pleasant; brother Bobby Sansom and wife Melanie of Pittsburg; and grandchildren Madison Sansom, Kate Sansom, Sansom Walker, Saxynn Walker, Halley Hernandez, Dylan Walker, and Ashley Walker.
Ronny obtained an Associates Degree from Paris Junior College. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, where he worshipped with his wife. In his free time, Ronny enjoyed deer hunting, shooting pistols, reloading ammo, and spending time with family and friends. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Navy and served his country. Following his military service, Ronny worked for the United States Postal Service for 38 years and retired in 2009 as a postmaster in Talco, Texas. Ronny was an avid member of the 4th Degree Scottish Rite Team, and of the Frank Sexton Masonic Lodge #206. In addition, he held the title of Past Master at both Rosalie Masonic Lodge #527 and Deport Masonic Lodge #381. Ronny accomplished much during his time within the Masonic community, and received the Masonic Golden Trowel Award, and served as Deputy District Grand Master.
He was preceded in death by his mother Lucille Sansom, wife Andrea Sansom, and brothers Jerry Sansom and Larry Sansom.
Funeral services for Ronny will be held at 11:00 am Monday, February 12, 2024, at Erman Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Randy Stracener officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Serving as pallbearers are Scott Sansom, Arley Sansom, Heath Sansom, Ben King, Brad King, Christopher Lozano, and Roberto Alvarez.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to a veteran’s organization or the Scottish Rite organization.
