Ronald Oben Tutor

Ronald Oben Tutor, 68, of Pittsburg, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2023, at his residence. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at The Old Country Church at Lafayette, 11676 FM 993, Pittsburg, Texas with Pastor, David Jackson officiating.

Mr. Tutor was born October 17, 1954, in Pittsburg to A.G. and Josephine Butler Tutor. Ron served as a police officer in the 1970’s and early 1980’s for Mount Pleasant, Decatur and was also chief of police for the city of Princeton. He was a retired electrician having owned Tutor Electric in Pittsburg as well. Mr. Tutor was a member of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his daughter, Nancy Jean Tutor Freeman and husband, Jesse of Whitewright; grandchildren, Haley Freeman, Jessica Freeman Parks, Jesse Freeman, Christopher Freeman, Tyler Tutor, Carl Lackey, Carla Davis and Kristan Davis; 16 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Tutor is preceded in death by his son, Terry Lynn Tutor; wife, Nancy Jane Tutor; parents, A.G and Josephine Tutor; sister, Nancy Neil; brothers, Joe, Earl, Buck, and Scottie.
