Roberta “Robbie”Self, 82, of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away Sunday, June 28, 2026 in Longview, Texas. Robbie was born August 10, 1943, in Longview, Texas, to John Kirkland Hazlip and Dorris Merritt Hazlip.
She graduated from Midland High School and attended the University of Texas where she received her BSN in Nursing. Robbie dedicated her career to caring for others as a registered nurse, serving faithfully until her retirement. She was known for her compassionate heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering dedication to her family, friends, and those whose lives she touched through her nursing career. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
She is survived by her daughter, Karen Colbeck and husband, Bill; granddaughters, Retta Colbeck and Willa Colbeck; her sister, Caroline Bond; her nephew, Dr. Kirk Bond and wife, Leanna; her niece, Suzanne Bond; along with numerous cousins, family members, and cherished friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Kirkland Hazlip and Dorris Merritt Hazlip; and her brother in law, Bill Bond.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at First Baptist Church, in Pittsburg with Bro. Joel Davis officiating.
Robbie will be remembered for her caring nature, her devotion to her family, her commitment to her profession, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her legacy of compassion and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
