Robert Douglas Fisher

Robert Douglas Fisher of Pittsburg was born March 22, 1928, in Paris, Texas, to George Oscar Fisher and Addie Adeline Kurly Fisher and passed away at his home on August 31, 2023.

Mr. Fisher graduated high school and then furthered his education at East Texas State University in Commerce, Texas. He was a member of the Frank Sexton Masonic Lodge in Pittsburg, Kiwanis Club, American Legion,  retired from Sherman fire department where he served for 35 years, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg.  Mr. Fisher served his country in both the United States Army and Navy and is a WWII veteran   

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Reva Fisher of Anna; daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Mike Dewoody of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Myste Gardner, Amber Green, Michael and Carla Fisher, and Jacqueline Fuller; great grandchildren, Christian Green, Alex Green, Fisher Gardner, Linsey Rose Fisher, Jeremiah Fisher, and Wyatt Fisher; great-great grandchild, Summit Green.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Ruth Fisher; brothers, Glen Fisher, George Oscar Fisher, Jacob Monroe Fisher, Urna Fisher; sisters, Olene Crockett and Betty Jo Richards.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 A.M. September 9, 2023, at Greer Boulevard church of Christ with burial to follow at Leesburg Cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the Greer Boulevard church of Christ fellowship hall. Caleb Hambrick will officiate the services and the Masonic Lodge will serve as pallbearers.
