Robert Michael Ferguson

Robert Michael Ferguson, 75, of Pittsburg, passed away Friday, January 27, 2023, in a Longview hospital. A memorial service will be held March 2nd at 2:15 p.m., with interment being in the Houston National Veterans Cemetery. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.

Mr. Ferguson was born February 24, 1947, in Pittsburg to Robert Dillard and Betty Lou Attaway Ferguson.  He attended the University of Houston class of 1969 and Galena Park High School class of 1965 and then served in the United States Army from 1967 to 1970.  Mr. Ferguson worked for PPG Industries in Houston before moving to Pittsburg in 1988, then worked for Pilgrim’s Pride until he retired in 2000, and was a member of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Ferguson; daughters, Tamara Lawson and husband, Thomas of Willis, and Laura Suarez and husband, Jody of Austin; granddaughter, Tawny Lopez and husband, Jose, and Laken Parker and fiancé, David Ayers; sister, Barbara Johnson of Pasadena; brothers, Bobby Ferguson of Woodville, Randy Ferguson and wife, Tracy of League City, Jeff Ferguson of Pasadena; sister, Debbie Wise of Pasadena; son-in-law, Brian Parker and wife, Nicole.

Mr. Ferguson is preceded by his parents; step-son, Richard Cook, Jr.; and step-daughter, Janet Parker.
