Mr. Richard “Pat” Taylor, age 80, of Pittsburg, passed away on Saturday, January 31, 2026 in Tyler. He was born April 7, 1945 to Lester “Pete” and Mary Warrick Taylor in Gilmer, Texas.
Pat was an insurance salesman up until his retirement. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Pittsburg where he was the song leader for many years.
Pat was a busy man, always on the go, weather it was driving somewhere just to ride, riding his bike, or actually traveling on trips. He was not one to ever sit at the house, according to him there was always somewhere to go. Pat’s smile will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Pat is survived by his wife, Darlene Case Taylor; children, Richard Taylor, Dennis Taylor and wife Desiree, Linda Burleson, step-sons, Richard Anders, and Robert Anders; 10 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his first wife, Ina Mae Copeland Taylor; daughter, Brenda Gay Taylor; and brothers, Billy Dean Taylor and William Everett “Mike Taylor; and son-in-law, Johnny Burleson.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, February 2, 2026 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Bro. David Kizer officiating. Interment will follow at Matinburg Cemetery in Camp County. There will be a visitation held at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel on Sunday, February 1, 2026 from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M.
