Reba Ruth (Pilgrim) Montgomery

Funeral services for Reba Ruth Montgomery, 71, of Pittsburg, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor John Epps and Bro. Ben Warrick officiating.  Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 3, 2023, also at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.  Mrs. Montgomery passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023.

Mrs. Montgomery was born March 12, 1952, in Pittsburg, to Hubert Louis and Edith Mae Harris Pilgrim.  She retired from UT Health East Texas – Pittsburg having worked in the Medical Records department for many years.  Mrs. Montgomery was a member of Reeves Chapel Methodist Church where she lead the church in song, participated on the church board, taught Sunday school, delivered food to those in need and much more.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Ronald Montgomery; and sons, Toby Montgomery and Kevin Montgomery.

Mrs. Montgomery was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Edith Pilgrim and brother, Harry Pilgrim.

She was a loving wife, dedicated mother, a friend to anyone she met, and a devoted Christian helping others any way she could.

Pallbearers will be Dale Montgomery, David Boren, Darin Montgomery, Dekin Montgomery, Ben Warrick, John Epps and Horace Wayne Reaves.
