Marleen Stracener Snider, 81, of the Holly Springs Community near Pittsburg, Texas, died on September 24, 2025, at home after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.
Marleen was born to Roe Jerrell Stracener and Novella Mamie Rumsey in Pittsburg, Texas on May 15, 1944. She attended Pittsburg schools and graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1962. She married Billy (Bill) Doyle Snider on June 30,1962. She was a homemaker and the mother of three beautiful daughters. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, reading, and watching old movies. She was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church.
Her daughter, Tina, and son-in-law, Charlie, provided untiring, loving care and support for Marleen during her lengthy illness. Cypress Basin Hospice of Mt Pleasant provided loving medical care for Marleen during her long illness.
Preceded in death by her husband, Bill Snider, her parents, Roe and Novella Stracener, and sister-in-law, Donna Stracener, Marleen is survived by her daughters, Tina Snider (Charlie Ashkar) of Pittsburg, Michele Bibb (Ron) of Little Elm, and Yvette Henry (Kevin) of Fort Worth, her brother Jerrell Stracener of McKinney, granddaughters Angeline Henry and Adelaide Henry, and niece Tanya Stracener of Dallas.
Visitation at Erman Smith in Pittsburg will be held at 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Sat September 27, 2025, followed by burial in the Riley Cemetery at 11:00 a.m.
