Michael Lee Crowell, Jr. (Mike), age 57, of Rockwall, Texas, passed away on Monday, June 24, 2024, in Pittsburg, Texas. He was born December 3, 1966, to Michael Lee Crowell, Sr. and Jan Bigbie Crowell in Kaufman, Texas.
Mike graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1985 and then earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree at Stephen F. Austin State University where he was also a member of Sigma Tau Gamma fraternity.
He made a career in residential real estate and spent the last 14 years as salesman for Altura Homes in Rockwall. Not surprising, he was recognized with many Top Closing Volume, Most Closings, Most Net Sales, and Top Sales awards from Altura. He also was recognized by McSam for multi-million dollar Reign Maker awards every year. His proudest career moment was when he was recognized by McSam as the Top Sales Professional in real estate from the Dallas Builder’s Association. Mike’s dedication to his clients went beyond mere transactions; he took immense joy and pride from the initial meeting to the moment he handed over the keys to their new home.
Mike enjoyed playing golf, fishing, visiting long-time friends, and taking beach vacations with his family that created lasting memories. He never met a stranger, was a lover of all animals, had the best laugh, took great joy in assisting those who are less fortunate, and his caring heart made him a loyal and generous friend. Mike leaves a legacy of kindness and compassion, and a deep love for his entire family, particularly his three children. He will be profoundly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Nicole Gallagher Crowell; son, Clayton Crowell; daughters, Taylor and Bella Crowell; parents Mickey and Jan Crowell; sisters, Natalie Crowell Pearce and husband Brent, Kristin Crowell Ellis and husband David; sister-in-law Traci Kinkaid and husband Mike; and his nieces and nephew, Tyler Reason, Ashton Spradlin, Rylee, Erin, and Kendall Pearce, Emerson and Kate Ellis, Daylon and Saigely Kinkade; and lastly, his beloved dogs Lilly and Georgie.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg with Rev. Jeff Dungan officiating. There will be a visitation held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg.
