Mary Kathryn (Bates) Duncan

Mrs. Mary Kathryn Duncan, age 94, of Pittsburg, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at her home in Pittsburg. She was born February 5, 1927 to John and Sallie Sewell Bates in Upshur County.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg and worked at Mike Benet Formals for many years as a seamstress.

She is survived by her daughters-in-law, Livia Duncan and Angie Duncan; son-in-law, Charlie Wilson; and her grandchildren, Aaron Duncan and wife Jessica, Jared Duncan, Daniel Duncan, and Michael Duncan; great-grandchildren, Axel Duncan, and Sloane Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Carl “Dub” Duncan; and her sons, Mark Wayne “Dub” Duncan, William Bates Duncan; her daughter, Jana Duncan Wilson; and nine siblings.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg with Rev. Brandi Horton and Rev. Jeff Dungan officiating. Interment to follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg. Pallbearers will be, Daniel Duncan, Jared Duncan, Michael Duncan, Charlie Wilson, Sam Waddell, and Tommy Goodwin. Honorary Pallbearer will be Aaron Duncan. There will be a visitation held from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday August 17, 2021 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg.
