Maria Lawrence, age 55, of Pittsburg, passed away on Sunday August 25, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born April 24, 1969 to Isidoro Cano and Orfelinda Ocha Cano Avilez in Raymondville, Texas.
Maria was an active member of Frontier Cowboy Church in Gilmer where she served on the care team. She worked as a CNA, but it was actually her heart’s desire to take care of others. She loved her patients, and through her career led many to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior. She also took care of others while serving on the care team at her church, her loving and giving heart will be missed by those who loved her.
Maria is survived by her loving husband, BJ Lawrence; her step-sons, Chad Lawrence, Christopher Lawrence, and Collin Lawrence; step-daughter, Charity Fannin; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Nicolas Cano; sister, Carmen Olan and husband Carlos; nieces and nephews; Steven Cano, Lucas Cano, Sofia Olan, Jeannie Amador, Christian Olan, and Carlos Banda; great-nieces and nephews, Christian Banda, Alazah Amador, Clarissa Amador, Carlos Amador, Bella Amador, Chelesa Amador; aunts, Lola and Soila; uncle, Goyo; cousin Ary Chapa; along with many others; and her two best friends, Paula Cisneros, and Brandi Jones.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents, Isidoro Cano and Orfelinda Avilez; and two sisters, Maria Del Carmen Cano, and Maria Estella Cano.
A Celebration of Her Life will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Frontier Cowboy Church in Gilmer, Texas from 11:00 A.M. till 1:00 P.M
