Margaret Jackson Obituary

Margaret Beggs Jackson, age 72, of Pittsburg, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born August 23, 1953 to Curtis L. (Tommy) and Louise Taft Beggs in Pittsburg.

After Margaret graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1971, she worked at the Coca-Cola Plant and Cavender’s before she followed in her mother’s footsteps and was hired by the City of Pittsburg. She was employed there for 30+ years, retiring as the City Secretary. Her service to the city continued after her retirement, as she was a Pittsburg City Council member for numerous years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.

Margaret was devoted to her family. She met the love of her life, Jimmie Jackson, 60 years ago and never looked back. They celebrated 54 years of marriage last year.

Survivors include her husband, Jimmie of Pittsburg; daughter, Misty Martin and husband James of Mt. Vernon; grandchildren, Wyatt Logan and wife Kayle, Gracie Martin, Blakely Moore and husband Ethan, and Dalton Martin and wife Sara; great-grandchildren, Bryleigh and Brookelyn Logan, and Taylor Moore. Also surviving are two nieces, Katherine Beggs Andren and husband Derek and Rachel Beggs Saunders and husband Stephan and many great nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her precious dog, Little Bit.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommy and Louise Taft Beggs, and her brother, Ronald Beggs.

Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with Bros. Joel Davis, Patrick Lloyd, and David Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in Macedonia Cemetery in Camp County. Pallbearers will be Wyatt Logan, Shawn Kennington, Tim Reynolds, Marlin Willeford, JD McElhaney, Wayne Hadderton and Richard Penn. There will be a visitation held before the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the church.
