Luis Martinez - Mendez

Funeral service for Luis Martinez - Mendez, 66, of Longview will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Longview with Father Luis officiating.  Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home in Pittsburg.  Mr. Martinez passed away Monday, October 31, 2022, in a Tyler hospital.

Mr. Martinez was born August 20, 1956, in El Cerrito de La Cruz Rayon, San Luis Potosi, Mexico to Joel Martinez Zarate and Angela Mendez Resendiz. He was retired landscaper having worked for New Orleans Gardens and was a member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Longview.

He is survived by his survived by his wife, Rosa Perez Netro; son, Luis Martinez; daughters, Maria del Carmen and husband, Felipe, Maria Trinidad and husband, Juan, Griselda and husband, Antonio, Yuridia and husband, Miguel, and Dora and husband, Luciano; mother, Angela Mendez; 11 grandchildren; three brothers; and two sisters.

Mr. Martinez is preceded in death by his son, Jose Luis and one brother.

Pallbearers will be Felipe Tienda, Miguel Contreras, Juan Calzada, Antonio Herrera, Luciano Perez, Luis Miguel Martinez, and Anthony Herrera.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m., to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 1, 2022, Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
