Lucy Quinn Obituary

Lucy Fay Parker Quinn, aka “Mama Lucy”, passed from this life into her eternal home with Jesus on Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the age of 82.  Born April 30, 1940 in Pittsburg, Texas, Lucy grew up and lived her life to the fullest, achieving her career dreams in Administrative Assistant roles, farming, poultry production, being a proud mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and equally important – a good, true, loyal friend to many, many people in this area.  Lucy was a giving, caring person who spent countless hours and personal resources making sure the less fortunate or grieving people in her circle of influence were taken care of.  She loved to talk, to help, to offer her opinion, to talk, and to emphasize her views on matters, and to talk.  Lucy and Lindley Quinn, as spouses, built a strong, firm legacy on the Quinn name, working constantly to ensure that name was well respected and appreciated in Camp County, Texas.  They are together again, today, in the wonderful realms of Glory we all hope to arrive in someday.

Lucy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Candace & Chris Reese of Pittsburg, her son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Trena Quinn of Gilmer; grandchildren; Cody and Brittany Williams of Pittsburg, Ty and Megan Quinn of Gilmer, Riley and Alex Quinn of Gilmer, Matthew Reese of Grand View, Texas, Braden & MaKinzie Reese of Pittsburg; great-grandchildren; Chandler Williams, Harper Williams, Ellie Williams, Blaire Reese, and Dawsyn Reese of Pittsburg, and Laken Quinn of Gilmer, and soon-to-be Lindley Quinn of Gilmer.  A sister, Mary Jane Parker Tigert of Pittsburg, nieces and spouses; Barbara Whitely & Greg of Cypress, Texas, Carmen Doskocil & Greg of Dallas, Texas, and Julia Holt & Robert of New Braunfels, Texas.

The family proudly acknowledges the unwavering support and help from Dr. Craig DeLisi, Dr. Ted Trimble, Heart-to-Heart Hospice, and most importantly, Patricia Peoples and Mary Herndon who, along with Candace, met every physical need Lucy had for the past 5 years.  For the friendship of Linda Monts, Rynn McMinn, Lisa Crain, Dot Nolan – all of whom supported her in any way they could until the very end.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Lindley Merle Quinn, along with her parents, Aaron & Bernice Parker, a sister, Judith Parker Blackstone, brothers-in-law George Blackstone and Norris Tigert.

Pallbearers will be Cody Williams, Ty Quinn, Riley Quinn, Braden Reese, Randy Monts, and Ross Henderson.  Honorary pallbearers will be: Perry Henderson, Glenn Reynolds, Bill McMinn, Larry Shrum (cousin), Matthew Reese, Neal O’Quinn, and Craig DeLisi

Services will be officiated by Todd Quinn and Chris Reese, with interment at the Quinn-Reese Farm immediately after the service ends (4775 FM 993 – Pittsburg, Texas 75686).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for your consideration in donating to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, to Heart-to-Heart Hospice, Shriners Hospital for Children, St. Jude Research Hospital for Children, Barbwire Halo Church in Gilmer, Texas, or the church of your choice.
