Graveside services for Lee Ray Cobb, 75, of Pittsburg, will be 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Blodgett Cemetery with Reverend Ross D. Hyde, officiating. Interment will be in Blodgett Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Cobb passed away Friday, November 17, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Lee Ray Cobb was born on December 8, 1947, in Grand Prairie, Texas to Oda Raymond and Vera Cobb. He grew up in Eagle Mountain Lake and graduated from W.E. Boswell High School, class of 1967.
He was a veteran of the United States Army where he proudly served his country earning the National Defense Service medal, Vietnam Service medal and Vietnam Campaign medal.
He married the love of his life, Cecile, on April 4, 1986. They shared many wonderful years together as husband and wife. Lee loved her beautiful blue eyes, kind heart and home cooking.
He retired from Pilgrim Pride Corporation after 26 years of dedication. He was an avid outdoorsman with a love for hunting and fishing. When in good health, he could be found weekly at the local bowling alley where he and Cecile participated in a bowling league. In his later years, he enjoyed sitting on his back porch, drinking coffee, and watching wildlife; especially hummingbirds and feeding the squirrels. Lee enjoyed making others laugh and gathering around the dinner table for a home cooked meal with family and friends.
He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, sense of humor and the ability to out talk anyone who knew him.
He was proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren who he loved watching run around and play. They brought great joy to his life.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Cecile Cobb of Pittsburg; son, Damon Cobb and wife, Loretha Cobb of Cleburne; daughter, Leigh Ray Slone and husband, Bobby Slone of Mt. Pleasant; grandchild, Cody Slone; daughter, Kayla Cobb-Shaw and husband, Jeffrey Shaw of San Antonio; grandchild, Damien Shaw; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Blaylock and husband, John Blaylock of Mt. Pleasant; children, Abigail, Joshua, Cassidy, Holden, and Mason; grandson, Daniel Slone and Nicole of Idabel, Ok; child, Jessalynn; grandson, Everett Duncan and wife, Lexie Duncan of Burleson; children, Esmee, Eevee, and Arvil; granddaughter, Joanna Shelton and husband, James Shelton of Benbrook; children, James Jr. and Calista; grandson, Taylor Morrison and wife, Rechelle of Cleburne; children, Elizabeth and Maddie; brothers, Jimmy Cobb and wife, Vittoria Cobb of Watauga, and Bobby Cobb and wife, Shelby Cobb of Weatherford; special friends, Robert and Patricia Slone of Pittsburg.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Oda Raymond and Vera Cobb.
Pallbearers will be Damon Cobb, Bobby Slone, Jeff Shaw, Daniel Slone, Cody Slone, John Blaylock, Damien Shaw, and Robert Slone.
Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:40 p.m., Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
