Mrs. Kitty Nell Bynum Jones, age 91, of Pittsburg, passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025 in Pittsburg. She was born October 2, 1934 in Camp County to Thomas Elmo Bynum and Minnie Lois Bell Bynum.
Mrs. Jones was retired from Southwestern Bell where she worked as a clerk for 15 years, and then was a stay at home mother raising and taking care of her two boys. She loved arts and crafts and even crocheting and was known as the family member who kept in touch with everyone by ways of letters and sending Christmas cards every year. Kitty saw the beauty in everything and was also a published poet. She was a member of the Pittsburg Church of the Nazarene.
She is survived by her two sons, Phillip Andrew Jones and wife Julie, and Brentley Wade Jones and wife Kathy Duncan; seven grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Geri Jones; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband George Robert “Bob” Jones, both of her parents; five brothers; four sisters; as well as her daughter-in-law, Therese Jean Brotherton Jones.
There will be a visitation held Sunday, November 9, 2025 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg from 3:00 P.M. till 5:00 P.M. She will be laid to rest at Laurel Land Cemetery in Dallas next to her husband G. Robert Jones.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Reeves Chapel Methodist Church in Pittsburg.
