Kathleen Joyce (Grimes) Cummings

Joyce Grimes Cummings, age 80, of Pittsburg passed away on Monday, June 3, 2024 in Mt. Pleasant. She was born June 12, 1943 to Walter and Bertha Harrison Grimes in Pittsburg.

Joyce was a retired teacher’s aide, and was a member of South Jefferson Baptist in Mt. Pleasant. Joyce was very active in her church and loved serving in any way that she could, more than likely when you walked up to the door she was the one that opened the door and greeted you  with a smile on her face and a hug. She enjoyed doing any kind of crafts and painting ceramics, shopping, and loving her granddaughter.           

She is survived by her husband, William “W.A.” Cummings; son, Keith Bryan and wife Stacia; daughter, Cathy Sparks and husband Duane; granddaughter, Leah Sparks; brother, Travis Grimes and wife Jean; nephew, Eric Grimes and wife Krista, and her niece, Jeana Barton.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 6, 2024 at Ebenezer Cemetery in Pittsburg with Bro. Kyle Smith officiating. Pallbearers will be, Charles Cates, Larry Cates, Barry Cates, Wayde Cates, Casey Howell, and Ronnie Humphry. There will be a visitation held before the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. at the cemetery.
