Julius Charles (Bucky) Harrison, Jr., 84, passed away on July 3, 2022, after a short illness. Bucky was born January 12, 1938. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julius Charles (Buck) Harrison, Sr. and Lucille Barnes Harrison as well as his Aunt Hazelle Barnes. He is survived by his brother, Franklin M. Harrison and wife Linda Simpson Harrison of Pittsburg, TX. Also, he is survived by his nephew, Blaine and (April) Harrison of Valencia, CA. and a great nephew, Scott Harrison.
Bucky grew up in Pittsburg and graduated from Pittsburg High School Class of 1956. Bucky was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church and a member of the Second Mile Sunday School Class. After High School, Bucky worked for Holman’s Furniture Company in Pittsburg for 38 years until they closed. He then worked 15 years for Pittsburg ISD in the custodial department.
Bucky enjoyed driving his father’s 1950 midnight blue antique truck around town and in antique vehicle parades. He was a member of Pineridge Club Lake where he enjoyed fishing. Bucky was also a former member of the Pittsburg Lions Club.
Services will be at the First United Methodist Church in Pittsburg on Saturday, July 9, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., with Don Sides, American Legion Chaplain, and Reverend Jeffrey Dungan will be officiating.
On, July 8, 2022, there will be a visitation at Erman Smith Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Earl Chaney, Tracy Crouch, Mike Jackson, Joe Marsh, John Truitt, and Tim Truitt.
Interment will be at the Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg following the service.
