Judy Diane Walker-Hulme, born on September 11, 1949, in Dallas, Texas, bid farewell to this world on May 12, 2024, in Pittsburg, Texas. She leaves behind a legacy colored by love, kindness, and cherished memories.
As a high school homecoming queen, Judy charmed all who knew her, and won over the heart of her husband Jim, who proceeded her in death just a month prior to her passing. After 49 years of marriage, the family takes comfort in knowing they are now together again, welcomed by their son Samuel Hulme.
Judy is survived in death by her daughter Kandy Jacobs; son Richard Hulme (wife Tracy); grandchildren Elizabeth Carlburg, Jonathan Meppelink (wife Kensie), Rebecca Ashley, Michael Jacobs, Bailey Hulme, Carlie Hulme, and Katelynn Hulme; as well as great-grandchildren Harley Carlburg, Haven Carlburg, Jasey Meppelink, Brooklyn Lamphear, and Alaric Meppelink.
Raised in Dallas before moving to life on a farm, Judy developed a strong work ethic and a love for the land. No matter where life took her family, from New Jersey to Kansas City and back to Texas; Judy planted and tended to beautiful flower beds at every location. Rose and Peony bushes lined the properties, and you could always find Iris's in the spring.
Judy's heart overflowed with love for her family. She passed what little down time she had as a homemaker lovingly adorning her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with blankets stitched and crocheted with care, each thread a testament to her boundless affection. Her commitment to family knew no bounds, as she dedicated herself to raising her three children and two grandchildren, and lovingly opening her home to all who needed throughout the years. Judy truly spent her life caring for others.
In her leisure moments, Judy found solace in the melodies of music, the familiar tunes carrying her to moments of nostalgia and joy. She could often be found singing along and sharing her favorite hits on Facebook. As the years passed and she found more time as family moved away, she turned the pages of countless books on her Kindle, immersing herself in stories until her eyes could no longer decipher the words. Undeterred, she found a new passion in the technology of streaming services, where she found all of her beloved Star Trek to rewatch before landing on a new love of crime TV shows. She eagerly delved into mysteries and intrigue until the early morning hours when Jim would have to take the remote and make her go to bed.
Judy's presence brought light, a few well placed sassy comments, and a legacy of stubbornness to the lives of those around her, and her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
