Mr. Joe Milton Kizer, 86, of Pittsburg, Texas, passed away on May 26, 2025, at UT Health in Pittsburg. He was born on June 11, 1938, in Pittsburg, Texas, to William Homer Emmett Kizer and Eugina D. “Euna” Knight Kizer.
A proud veteran, Mr. Kizer honorably served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years, retiring as a First Class Petty Officer. During his military service, he was awarded the Fourth Good Conduct Award and the Meritorious Unit Commendation. Following his naval career, he continued to serve his community by working as an electrician at Lone Star Steel, where he retired after 27 years of dedicated service.
Mr. Kizer was a faithful and active member of Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church in Pittsburg, where he served as a Deacon and found joy in fellowship and worship.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Kizer; sons and daughters-in-law: William D. Kizer (Faye), Robert A. Kizer (Tawana), Mike Kizer (Dianna), and David P. Kizer (Sandra); grandchildren: Misha Lankford (Mark), Lauren Bernal (Leonel), Rachel Kizer, Shonda Randle (Tommy), Cassie George (Jonathan), Dustin Kizer (Sarah), Nicholas Kizer (Lydia), Jeremy Fountain, Justin Fountain, Jordan Fountain, Wesley Kizer (Kailey), Zackary Kizer, Sarah Kizer (fiancé Corey Collins), Hanah Kirkpatrick (Braiden), and Caleb Kizer; 28 great-grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Ruby Kizer; and special life-long friends, Whitey and Carol Pottruff.
Mr. Kizer was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Peggy Ruth Hubenack.
A memorial service to honor Joe’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church.
He will be remembered for his deep commitment to faith, family, and country.
