JoAnn Kennington Obituary

Our dearly loved mother, JoAnn Kennington, transitioned from this life into the arms of Jesus on February 26th, 2024. JoAnn was born on September 15th, 1930, in Pritchett Texas, to Frederick Worth Maxwell and Myrtle May Brandon Maxwell.

JoAnn was a stenographer and homemaker. She loved knitting, camping, cooking, and spending time with her family. She always had the best peach cobbler waiting for her friends and family to come and enjoy. She loved her church if it be Pine Tree church of Christ or Kingwood church of Christ and had a special place in her heart for those who were "shut in", no longer able to leave their home. She taught cradle roll in church for many years and was always active in fun groups with her great group of friends.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Clovis Kennington, and her parents, father, Frederick Maxwell;  Myrtle Maxwell Strange; and step-father, E.E. Strange.

JoAnn is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Sarah Kennington of San Antonio, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Tim Power of Kingwood, Texas; brother, Gene Ralph Maxwell of Sealy, Texas who passed away on Monday, March 4, 2024; ten grandchildren, Josh Kennington, Jacob Kennington, Ryan Kenningon, Mathis Kennington, Hope Gabrysch, Hannah Luna, Chad Smith, Cliff Power, Chase Power, and Chelsea Gonzalez; and eighteen great-grandchildren.
