Jerry Warren French

Jerry Warren French of Pittsburg was born January 10, 1953 in Pittsburg to Sidney George French and Syble Boyd French and passed away on October 17, 2022 at his home in Pittsburg surrounded by his family.

Mr. French was All School Favorite in 1971, volunteered his time in the community by announcing Pirate football many years, past president of the Rotary Club, held all officer position with the Pittsburg Bass Club, past president of the Young Farmers, Emcee at the local HeeHaw performance, director of the Children’s Department at Emmanuel Baptist Church,  member of the Pittsburg Arts Council, served on the Macedonia Cemetery committee, and a favored after dinner speaker on a number of occasions.  He was awarded the Volunteer of the Year award by the Chamber of Commerce and the Spirit Award by the Spirit of Pittsburg.   He owned and operated Leonard’s Feed Store from 1976-1990 and then Farm Bureau Insurance for 30 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg.

He is survived by his wife Deana French of Pittsburg; sons, Warren Kent French, Matthew Boyd French, and Andrew Dean French all of Pittsburg; granddaughter, Anberlin Indie French; brothers, George Lynn French and his wife Brenda, Johnny Rex French and his wife Rhonda, Joey Mack French and his wife Beverly all of Pittsburg; brother from another mother, Gary Daily and his wife Kim of Pittsburg. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and a host of very special cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents John and Josie Boyd and Charles Mason French and Nancy Pilgrim French; and sister-in-law, Judy Gail French

Services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Thursday, October 20, 2022 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2022 between 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church. Bro. Park Robertson will officiate the service. Sonny Gibbs, Ross French, Gary Daily, Travis French, Jeremiah Padron, and Jerrod Lake will serve as pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers will be L.J. Richardson, Logan Richardson, David Rolston, Curt Rolston, Bill Gilbert, Connor Gilbert, Donnie Barrett, Cary John Efurd, PHS class of 1971, Herschel’s Breakfast Group, and the managers, agents, board, and adjusters for Farm Bureau.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donation be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the charity of choice that is in children’s ministry.
