Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Blackstock passed away on July 25, 2024.
Reggie was born on January 25, 1955, in Inglewood, California to William Donald Blackstock and Frankie Joy Law Blackstock.
After attending Granada Hills High School, Reggie proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Dixie where he maintained and repaired Navy destroyers in Vietnamese waters. After completing his service, Reggie moved to Pittsburg, Texas to be with his family. There he met his wife of 46 years, Linda Smith Blackstock. Together, Reggie and Linda would raise two sons, Joe and Matt.
After working in Pittsburg for many years as a building contractor, Reggie and Linda decided to move the family to Benbrook, Texas in 1988 where they continued to reside until his passing.
In 1989, Reggie became employed at the Caruth Arabian Horse Ranch in Lone Oak, Texas where he would work for the remainder of his career constructing horse barns, housing, and various ranch projects during the days and helping his friends with construction projects in the evenings. His friends at the Caruth Ranch and in Lone Oak were considered second family to him.
Reggie was a lifelong baseball fan, playing ball at Granada Hills High School and following the LA Dodgers as a kid, later coaching his sons’ teams at Benbrook Youth Baseball Association and attending their games at Western Hills High School. Reggie was also a Harley Davidson enthusiast, getting his first Harley at age 19 and still riding up until the time of his passing.
Reggie is survived by his wife, Linda Blackstock; son Matt Blackstock and wife Courtney; brother Randy Blackstock and wife Missy; brother Rusty Blackstock and wife Cathy; cousins Cliff Blackstock and wife Barb; Chansi Shope and husband Chris, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends.
