Howard Loftis

Howard Raymond Loftis, 88, of Pittsburg, Texas, met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on May 3, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Mr. Loftis was born February 27, 1934 in Simpsonville to the late Edd and Minnie Lee Powell Loftis. Howard married Patsy "Pat" Carpenter on June 25, 1955 and they shared 57 years together until her passing in 2012. He was retired from Pilgrims Pride where he worked for 43 years and was also a member of Eaves Tabernacle Baptist Church. Howard always had a big garden and loved to share fresh vegetables with his friends and neighbors over the years. He loved playing dominoes with his buddies, had a good eye for classic cars, and was most definitely quite the jokester. He got so much joy out of telling jokes and laughing with his friends and family.

Howard is survived by son and daughter in law, Scotty and Mary Jane Loftis and daughter and son in law, Terri and Tim Reynolds along with four grandchildren, Jeremy and wife Hollie, Lydia and husband Mason, Lacey and Cami. He is also survived by brother, Bill and wife Peggy Loftis. He was so proud of his grandchildren and loved spending time with them. Howard has numerous nieces and nephews along with other beloved family members and special friend, Diann Norton. 

Howard is preceded in death by his wife, his parents Edd and Minnie Lee Loftis, his brothers Bud Brown and David Loftis, and his sister Verna Faye Moses. 

His family, loved ones, and friends are invited to gather to celebrate his life on May 6, 2022. Howard’s visitation will be from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at Erman Smith Funeral Home with a graveside service at Leesburg Cemetery at 2:00pm.
