Mrs. Hazel Yvonne Griffin was born October 15, 1942, in Elkhart, Texas to Eaulon Amick and Maurine Henderson Amick and passed away on July 11, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Mrs. Griffin graduated from Jacksonville High School and was co-owner of her and her husband’s small-town business, Griffin Tire Center. She was also a homemaker during this time caring for her husband, children and later on her grandchildren. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Pittsburg.
Mrs. Griffin is survived by her husband, Vernon Griffin of Pittsburg; son, Lee Griffin and his wife Amy of Pittsburg; daughter, Missy Huffman and her husband Bill of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Billy & Nichole, Cassie and Courtney, Kevin and Erin, Kayla and Johnathan, Jackie and Renae, Shaney and Colin, Kimberly, Beau and Ashleigh, Kendall and Autumn, Miranda and Jonathan, Jonathan, and Aaron and Niki; and many great grandchildren; brother, Buddy Amick and his wife Bonnie of Ft. Worth; sister, Patti Turner of Whitehouse, and sisters-in-law, Patsy Amick of Carthage, Julie Ann Smith and husband Jimmie, and Mary Lou Mayo; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives that loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother-in-law, Armano Burton Sweatt; sister, Pamela Amick; brother, Mikal Amick; daughter, Tammy Harkey; son, Andy Griffin; grand-daughter, Courtney Griffin; brothers-in-law, Raymond and Ann, Billy Joe and Bonnie, and Chester Hugh (Buddy); sisters-in-law, Della Mae, Willie Bell, and Pansie Nell and Raymond and other relatives.
Graveside services will be held 10:15 A.M. Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at Macedonia Cemetery. The family will have a time of visitation at the funeral home, between 9:00-10:00 A.M Tuesday prior to the graveside service.
