Memorial service for Harry H. Horch (aka Gramps) 87, of Pittsburg, will be 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 24, 2023, at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Dungan, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Gramps passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023, at his residence.
Gramps was born September 24, 1935, in Sacramento, California to Jake and Mollie Reitz Horch. He retired from the United State Air Force after having first served as a United States Marine in Korea. He was a member of the Lutheran faith for 82 years. After moving to Pittsburg he joined the First United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Barbara; sons, Robert Horch, Kenny Horch, Lance Hopton; daughters, Janet Grimmer and husband, Donald, Roxanne Logan and husband, Greg, Robyn Eberhardt and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Ryan, Paris, Bryan, Brittney, Michael, Caitlin, Jenna, Crista, and Griffin; great-grandchild, Atlas; sister, Thalia Virden and husband, Ron, niece, Elaine, and nephew, Blaine.
Gramps is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Roy Hopton; brother, LeRoy Horch; and sister, Virginia Horch.
Reception will be at the First Methodist Church after the memorial service.
