Gladys Murphree Reynolds of Pittsburg, Texas was born on July 21, 1944 in Pittsburg to B.H and Ottie Kizer Murphree and passed away at her home surrounded by family on August 29, 2025.
Mrs. Reynolds graduated from Pittsburg High School in the class of 1962 and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, better known as Grammy. She was a Baptist. Gladys loved to travel many places, but gravitated to places that were musical like Branson, Missouri, Nashville, Tennessee, and the Smokey Mountains. She loved many artists including Elvis, which meant that her trips to Graceland were extra special. Her most enjoyed moments were spoiling and loving on her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Glen R. Reynolds of Pittsburg; son and daughter-in-law, Dustin and Julie Reynolds of Pittsburg; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Craig Mercer of Pittsburg; grandchildren, Logan Wittebort and Lainie, Trent Wittebort and Alli, Mason Reynolds and Natalie, Maguire Reynolds, Tatum Reynolds, Amanda Mercer, and Michael Mercer; great grandchildren, Kinzlee, Levi, Hadlee, Eden, Ivy, and Kollin; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Gayla Murphree, Carol Murphree, Joye Andrews, Joan Reynolds, Bill and Nell Matthews, David and Ann Reynolds, and Marcene Arceneaux, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Robert Murphree and Richard Murphree, and grandson, Dustin Mercer.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, August 31, 2025 at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Macedonia Cemetery, The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service between 1:00-2:00 P.M.
The family wants to express their gratitude for the loving care that Gayla Murphree has shown for Gladys and the rest of the family during this time.
