Gale Stuedle Obituary

Gale Dean Stuedle, 73, of Pittsburg, passed away on Monday, July 25, 2022, at TRMC, Mt. Pleasant. He was surrounded by his loving wife and daughter during his transition to glory. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.  A memorial service is planned for July 30, 2022, at First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, TX. The family will welcome friends and loved ones at 10:00 a.m. for visitation and services will begin at 11:00 a.m.

Gale was born August 21, 1948, in Richmond, California to Charles William and Grace Marie Trigg Stuedle. He was a retired restaurant manager and member of the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg where he also spent several years doling out warm welcomes and smiles to the Pittsburg community at the Family Life Center. He called himself the Wal-Mart greeter of the FLC and loved his time there seeing friends and serving his church and community.

While Gale was born in California, he was raised in Mayview, Missouri where he played baseball and basketball for Mayview High School before graduating in the class of 1966. His love for sports continued as he played fast pitch softball and coached his oldest two son’s baseball teams. If you were looking for Gale anytime May-August, you could make the rounds at local ball fields where he could be found playing, coaching or umpiring a game.

Life brought along a daughter and then another son while his career took him from Missouri to Texas where he owned and operated a Hardee’s restaurant of his own. He left that franchise and continued on in restaurant management and spent his time raising his family along side his wife of 50 years.

Gale’s humor, sharp wit and love will be missed by all of those who were blessed to know him. His greatest pastimes involved spending time with his family and friends when he had the opportunity. If there was a sporting event being broadcasted, you can be assured that it would be on his television and he would be enjoying it with anyone who would gather around. One of the most memorable thrills of recent years was when the Kansas City Chiefs won the 2020 Super Bowl.

He is survived by his wife, Rogene Lee Stuedle; sons, Nathan Charles Stuedle, Weston Robert Stuedle, and Joel Tyler Stuedle; daughter, Vanessa Marie Stuedle; 12 grandchildren, Makayla Marie Thrasher, Dillan Lee Herridge, Nicholas Austin Herridge, Ryan Walker Herridge, Gavin Dean Stuedle, Alexis Paige Stuedle, Kendra Renee Stuedle, Trent Thomas Ford, Elise Marie Ford, Mackenzie Grace Stuedle, Finnley Aldo Stuedle, and Allyson Grace Stuedle; and three great-grandchildren, Ezekiel Wood, Zayne Herridge and Sophia Hamilton.

He was preceded in death by his mother Grace Marie Stuedle, father Charles William Stuedle and brother, Charles Spencer Stuedle.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that local donations be made to God’s Closet in Pittsburg or to the United Ways of Texas online at https://www.uwtexas.org
