Ernest Roy Behymer, 76, of Pittsburg, passed away on September 1, 2025, surrounded by his family. He was born on December 4, 1948, to the late Raymond and Ardell Behymer.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Donna, of Pittsburg. Together they built a life rooted in love and family. Ernie was a devoted father to his son, Robert (Stacy) of Mt. Pleasant, and his daughter, Kristi (Chad) of Baton Rouge. He also cherished each of his grandchildren: Natalie (Avey) Pope, Katelyn Behymer, Alissa Lankford, Trey Lankford, and Carson Lentz.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Ernie honorably served his country in Vietnam. After his service, he dedicated himself to both family and work. For 27 years, he owned and operated Ernie’s Lawn & Garden, where he became well known for his mechanical expertise and as “the man who could make anything run”.
Ernie had a lifelong passion for engines, old tractors, model trains, and remote-control airplanes, spending countless hours working on and enjoying them throughout his life.
Above all, Ernie loved his family. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose steady presence, sense of humor, and wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
There will not be a formal service. A private interment will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Camp County.
