Elwanda (Biggs) White

Funeral services for Elwanda Biggs White, 71, of Pittsburg will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Erman Smith Funeral Home with Bro. Wyman Steptoe officiating.  Interment will be in the Crossroads Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.  Mrs. White passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, at her residence.

She was born on December 30, 1949, in Gilmer, to Levy Monroe and Sybil Pollard Biggs.  She was a former Kilgore College Rangerettes (once a Rangerette always a Rangerette), was a public-school teacher for three decade holding positions as classroom teacher, gifted and talented coordinator, GED coordinator, and music.  She was a member of Leesburg Baptist Church.

Mrs. White is survived by her husband of 29 years, Robert White of Pittsburg; one brother Ronald and wife, Dianna of Hideaway Lake; children, Ronald “Bubba” Whilley of Houston, TX; daughter, Jennifer Schmidt Live Oak, TX, Kelly and Russell Sawyer of Pittsburg, TX and Garry White of Tyler, TX; sister-in-law, Betty Biggs of Pittsburg; nephew, Jason Biggs of Pittsburg; mother-in-law, Nadine White of Pittsburg; and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Levy and Sybil Biggs; brother, Lyndal Biggs; and father-in-law, Cecil White.

Pallbearers will be Steven Pollard, Eddie Applegate, Cameron Whilley, Christian Whilley, Alain Marin, and Damien Marin.

Honorary pallbearers, Richard Pollard, Bob Cain, Tommy Williams, and Gary Leeper.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 27, 2021, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
