Elroy Dwayne Turrentine

Funeral services for Elroy Dwayne Turrentine, 77, of Leesburg will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 6, 2024, at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Jeff Dungan officiating.  Interment to follow at Leesburg Cemetery in Camp County. Mr. Turrentine passed away, Saturday, June 1, 2024, at his residence.

Mr. Turrentine was born on June 17, 1946, in Grand Island, NE to Herbert Earl and Darlene Hilmer Turrentine.  He was a retired millwright with Lone Star Steel, veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Faye Turrentine; daughter, Amy Hammonds and husband, Will; grandchildren, Caleb Marshall, Hannah Marshall and HayLee Hammonds.

Mr. Turrentine is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert Earl Turrentine and Darlene Gutowsky.

Pallbearers will be Richard Cline, Rick Owens, Brian Owens, Chris Minchew, Blake Hayden, and Kevin Poe.

Honorary Pallbearers, Ethan Owens, Nick Mitchell, Gabriel Molina, Kenny Clifton, Michael Thomas, Rick Hall, and Carter Owens.

Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.

The family would also like to thank Choice Hospice for the outstanding care they gave.  Amanda, Kiara, and Jay went above and beyond.
