Charles Raby Holcomb

Mr. Charles Raby Holcomb, age 84, of Pittsburg, joined his Lord and Savior peacefully at home on June 21, 2020.  “Charlie” was born April 12, 1936 in the Holly Springs Community to Clarence Madison and Gladys Mae Roberts Holcomb.

Charlie graduated from Pittsburg High School in 1953 and then went to Tyler Business College.  Upon graduation he went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad.  He then went to work for Conoco in Ponca City, OK where he met and married “the best thing that ever happened to me”, Patricia Carol Ruggs.  They were married 50 years.

He also worked for Exxon Chemicals in Houston, retired and moved back to Pittsburg.  He was active in the First Baptist Church on the Properties Committee building, fixing or helping wherever he could.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Holcomb; sons, Gary Charles Holcomb of Coppell, Tx, Michael Brent Holcomb of Euless, Tx, and Clayton Paul Holcomb and wife, LeAnn of Damascus, Oregon; sister, Linda Blount and husband, Dwain of Mt. Pleasant, Tx, sister-in-laws, Bette Holcomb of Pittsburg, Nancy O’Hair and husband, Scott of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Carolyn Ruggs of Tonkawa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Caleb Paul Holcomb, Matthew Charles Holcomb, Jacob Reed Holcomb, and Bethany Ann Holcomb.

He is preceded in death by, his parents, and a brother, Vernon C. Holcomb.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at the First Baptist Church in Pittsburg, with interment to follow at Rose Hill Cemetery in Pittsburg. There will be a visitation held before the service beginning at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at First Baptist Church.
