Cecile Marie (Laney) Cobb

Graveside services for Cecile Marie Cobb, 67, of Pittsburg, will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Blodgett Cemetery with Reverend Ross D. Hyde officiating.  Interment will be in the Blodgett Cemetery.  Mrs. Cobb passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024. She was born on November 11, 1956, in Vivian, Louisiana to Cecil Donald and Goldie Beatrice Laney. She was a 1976 graduate of Ore City High School in Ore City, Texas.  She attended Tyler Junior College where she earned her associates in secretarial studies.

She married the love of her life, Lee Ray Cobb, on April 4, 1986. They shared many wonderful years together as husband and wife until his death on November 17, 2023.  He loved her beautiful blue eyes, kind heart and home cooking. She loved his strength, sense of humor and strong will.

Cecile retired from Wal-Mart after over 25 years of service. Customers always knew when she was working as her laugh could be heard throughout the photo/electronics department. She considered her co-workers family from the bond built through the chaos of working retail and shared many special friendships with them.

Cecile enjoyed bowling, a hot cup of morning coffee, time with family, every Hallmark movie ever made, and spreading laughter and cheer. She will be remembered for her southern home cooking, kind spirit and heart of gold.

She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved watching run around and play. They brought great joy to her life.

She is survived by her son, Damon Cobb and wife Loretha Cobb of Cleburne, TX; daughter, Leigh Ray Slone and husband, Bobby Slone of Mt. Pleasant, TX; grandchild, Cody Slone; daughter, Kayla Cobb-Shaw and husband, Jeffrey Shaw of San Antonio, TX; grandchild, Damien Shaw; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Blaylock and husband, John Blaylock of Mt. Pleasant, TX; children Abigail, Joshua, Cassidy, Holden, Mason; grandson, Daniel Slone; children, Jessalynn; grandson, Everett Duncan and wife, Lexie Duncan of Burleson, TX; children, Esmee, Eevee and Arvil; granddaughter, Joanna Shelton and husband, James Shelton of Benbrook, TX; children, James Jr. and Calista; grandson, Taylor Morrison and wife, Rechelle of Cleburne, TX; children, Elizabeth and Maddie; special friends, Robert and Patricia Slone of Pittsburg, TX.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Lee Ray Cobb; parents Cecil Donald and Goldie Beatrice Laney, brothers Louie Ward and Bennie Ward; sisters Shirley Ward and Bessie Vaughn.

Pallbearers will be Damon Cobb, Bobby Slone, Jeff Shaw, Damien Shaw, Daniel Slone, Cody Slone, and John Blaylock.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 28, 2024, at Erman Smith Funeral Home.
