Funeral services for Blanche Adele Beckham 90, Decatur, TX (formerly of Pittsburg) will be 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025, Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Kim Beckham officiating. Interment will be in the Macedonia Cemetery in Camp County. Arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home. Mrs. Beckham passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, in a Frisco hospital surrounded by her family.
Blanche Adele Beckham was born March 23, 1935, in Pittsburg Tx, to Earnest and Dovie Alexander.
She was the 8th of 12 children. She married Royce Clayton Beckham on March 17, 1951, and spent the rest of her life supporting his dreams until God called him home. She followed him in his military career to multiple bases across the United States and across the ocean for a year in France. She spent about half of her life in Farmers Branch Texas where she was active in the Central Park Baptist Church. She was living in Decatur Texas when the Lord called her home.
Blanche was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Beckham, her son, Ricky Beckham, and her grandson, Kyle Oney.
She is survived by her 3 children, sons, Donny Beckham of Irving TX, Kim Beckham and wife, Barbara of Tyler, Texas; daughter, Tracey Oney and husband, Robert of Decatur TX,
She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, Dana, Lisa, Jessica, Amanda, Clay, Eric, Clint, and Kevin and numerous great-grandchildren.
Blanche never worked outside of the home but spent her life devoted to family as a wife, mother, grandmother. She was a committed follower of Jesus Christ having given her life to him as young girl. She served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.
Blanche, who most called Dell was highly intelligent and an avid reader. She made up for her lack of formal education by her constant regime of reading. Her home is full of books, and she instilled in her children a lifelong devotion to books.
Blanche was known for her kind and gentle nature. She was devoted to her family, friends, and church.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
