Mrs. Betty Higgins Esther, age 87, of Pittsburg, passed away at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, June 24, 2025. She was born February 2, 1938 in Wellington, Texas to Willard and Lucille Vandiver Higgins.
Betty was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church in Georgia. She loved her family, her children, her grandchildren, her pets, and her flowers. The beauty of the outdoors where she was presently living was one of her favorited things, along with her daughters fresh homemade chocolate chip cookies. She had a heart of gold with a personality that was unforgettable. She enjoyed her TV, murder mysteries were her favorite, and NCIS was usually on loop.
She is survived by her daughter, Tami Aynes and her husband Chris; sons, Marty Esther, and Gregg Esther; grandchildren, Rusti Hendrix, Amelia Esther, Kevin Cothran, Ethan Esther; son-in-law, David Turner; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by both of her parents; husband, Ed Esther; children, Dodie Cothran, Jodie Turner, and Randy Jarosh; and siblings, Bill Higgins, Joe Higgins, Alma Lou Staniford, and Gwen Welch.
Memorial Services will held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Pittsburg.
