Barbara J. (Tougaw) Karnes

Barbara J. Karnes, 76, of Pittsburg, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024, at her residence.  A memorial service will be held at a later date at Moore’s Chapel Cemetery in Yell County, Arkansas.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Erman Smith Funeral Home.

Mrs. Karnes was born August 3, 1948, in Belleville, Arkansas to Orville and Pearl Moore Tougaw.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her sons, Jay Karnes and wife Bobbie Jo of Pittsburg and Brian Karnes and wife, Julie of Belton; daughter Cheryl Thrasher and husband Russell of Paris; grandchildren Andrew, Matthew, Alison, Tyler, Braden, Sean, Madison, Preston, and Landon; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Maggie, Caroline, Keeley, Samuel, Bentley, and Brantley; brothers, Ron Tougaw and wife, Linda and Dennis Tougaw and wife, Terry; sister, Mary Willard and husband, Hoover; along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family who she loved so much.

Mrs. Karnes was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Karnes, parents, Orville and Pearl Tougaw and brother, Dale Tougaw.

No formal visitation is scheduled.
