Andrew Mercer

Christopher Andrew Mercer, 26, of Pittsburg, passed away on Saturday, April 1, 2023, in Kyle, Texas.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home. 

Andrew was born on April 23, 1996 in Longview to Paul and Jeanette Mercer. The youngest of three sons, Andrew enjoyed hiking mountains, catching fish, and playing video games. He was also an avid athlete throughout his life, demonstrating a passion and gift for sports. He utilized his talents to proudly serve as a Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States Army during Operation Inherent Resolve.

Raised in the Nazarene faith, Andrew was committed to showing kindness and compassion to others. His friendliness, generosity, and hardworking spirit brought a special light to each and every person he met. He will be remembered as a treasured son, caring brother, and loving father.

Andrew is survived by his parents, Paul and Jeanette Mercer; son, Oliver James Mercer; and brothers, Johnathon Mercer and wife, Jessie, and Zachariah Mercer and wife, Haley.

Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Celebration of Life at 10:00 a.m.
