Mr. Allen Gibson age 68, of Pittsburg passed away on Saturday October 9, 2021 at his home. He was born August 28, 1953 to Walter and Mamie Austin Gibson in Tom, Oklahoma.
Allen was a Taxidermist for 50 years. He owned and operated Allen’s Taxidermy and was well known for his taxidermy skills. He was a member of the Texas Taxidermy Association and the NRA along with many others and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Freda Fairless Gibson; daughters, Monica Penny and husband Clay, Crystal Jackson and husband Brent; grandchildren, Shelby Allen and husband Dakota, Ryan Suitts and Jillian, Ally Jackson, Jake Jackson and Blake, Parker Jackson, Boston Jackson, step-grandchildren, Caden Penny and wife Bekka, Ashley Sparks and husband Kenneth, and Amberlie Penny; great-grandchildren, Aiston Allen, Hunter Allen, and Bella Allen; step great-grandchildren; Major McCoo, Kingston McCoo, Conner Penny, Cortlyn Penny, Caisley Penny, Nash Penny, and Hannah Sparks; and brothers, Emmitt Gibson and wife Eva, and Charles Henry Gibson.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Crockett Willis (Buddy) Gibson, a sister, Louetta Gibson Fairless; and his step grandson Cayle Tanner Penny.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at the Grace Baptist Church 512 Yates Street Mt. Vernon, Texas with Rick Merrit and Bro. Tom Campbell officiating. Interment will follow in Macon Cemetery in Franklin County. Pallbearers will be Ronnie West, Chris Spence, Wayne Stanford, Jarrett Burns, Rick Merrit, Steve Tomme, Dennis Harrell, and Bobby Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be his grandsons and great-grandsons. There will be a visitation held from 6:00 P.M. till 8:00 P.M. Tuesday October 12, 2021 at the Erman Smith Funeral Home Chapel.
